Defuse is not a one-person shopfront. It is a small, practical team with real classroom mileage — led by a practitioner who has spent time on both sides of a support plan.
NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner · Certified Behaviour Analyst · Teacher
Esmé's path into behaviour support started in the classroom, not a clinic. Years of hands-on teaching gave her a front-row view of how behaviour shows up in real, busy environments — and what actually helps in the moment. That experience carried through into further study as a Certified Behaviour Analyst, and now into NDIS Positive Behaviour Support work, where she leads Defuse's assessments and support plans.
It is this combination — teacher, analyst, practitioner — that shapes how Defuse works: plans that are grounded in evidence, but written for the people who have to use them every day.
Alongside Esmé, Defuse draws on practitioners with real classroom and school-leadership backgrounds — over 10 years of teaching experience and 6 years in education leadership across the team, plus hands-on experience in disability inclusion leadership and inclusive practices that support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). It is this collective experience, not just one person's, that shapes every plan Defuse writes.
Over 10 years of real teaching time across the team — strategies that are tested against a real classroom, not just a textbook.
6 years of education leadership experience, bringing a whole-school view to plans that need to work beyond one room.
Direct experience leading disability inclusion work, so plans are built for genuine, everyday inclusion — not just compliance.
Practical experience with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, layering the right level of support around each person.
We have immediate capacity for new referrals — assessments, de-escalation strategies and support plans.
