About us

A team behind every plan

Defuse Behaviour Solutions is led by Esmé Jorgensen — an NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, Certified Behaviour Analyst and Teacher. Around her, the practice draws on practitioners with a genuine classroom background: over 10 years of teaching experience and 6 years in education leadership, alongside experience in disability inclusion leadership and inclusive practices that support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).

That combination matters. It means every assessment and plan is written by people who understand what a strategy actually needs to look like on a Tuesday afternoon in a real classroom, home or community setting — not just on paper.

Behaviour assessments

A clear, functional assessment process that looks past the behaviour itself to understand what is driving it.

De-escalation strategies

Practical, proactive and responsive strategies for the moments that matter most — built with the people who are there.

Support plans

Individualised, NDIS-aligned Positive Behaviour Support Plans that translate assessment data into everyday action.

Our approach

Data and goals, without losing the person

Our approach is grounded in inclusive practice and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) — looking at the whole environment around a person, not just the behaviour in isolation. We track what is working, adjust what is not, and keep everyone involved — families, schools, support coordinators and support workers — working from the same plan.

All behaviour is communication. We work with the team supporting the participant to ensure that the plan works for their environment, with their voice and preferences evident.
